Alice M. L. Quiocho is Professor Emeritus of Literacy Instruction at California State University, San Marcos, where she currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Human Development. Dr. Quiocho specializes in reading and language instruction for English language learners and has over 45 years of experience in education, including serving as Director of the North County Professional Development Federation, a department of the San Diego County Office of Education, coordinator of professional development for a K-8 public school district and coordinator of library/media services for a K-8 district, and served as a principal, reading specialist, and teacher at the elementary and middle school levels. She co-authored her first book, Differentiating Literacy Instruction for English Language Learners, with Sharon H. Ulanoff.
